Somewhere along the way, adult social life quietly got outsourced. Work has Slack. Dating has apps. Even meeting new people got turned into “networking,” which mostly means standing around with a drink you don’t want, talking about what you do for a living.

Most of what’s left happens on a screen. It’s efficient. It’s also not much of a life.

The Outies exists to put some of that back in the real world.

Not as a mission statement, but as a standing excuse to actually do things. Hike somewhere. Learn something. Sit around a fire. Lose at poker. Show up to something you saw posted and leave with people you’d hang out with again.

People end up in The Outies for all kinds of reasons. Some are new to the city, some just moved past the friend group they had in college, some are just tired of the same five plans on rotation. Founders, engineers, artists, students, whoever. Nobody asks what you do before they ask if you’re coming this weekend.

There’s no membership fee to feel like you belong here and no agenda beyond “this seemed fun, come if you want.” You show up, you do the thing, you go home with a slightly better story than you had on Friday morning.
